Frankie

| | Monday, September 24, 2001 - 12:37 pm Hi everyone, This is Tung Tat-sing. Thank Ms Tsang's compliments about the old friends in Canada. Akin Alliance's web site has been visted by many old friends from Australia, California, Toronto and Vancouver, etc. All of us still consider ourselves as part of Akin Alliance. Eventhough we cannot vote in the AGM, I think most of us feel we still have the Akin blood in us. Kenneth Tung, Vancouver.

| | Monday, September 24, 2001 - 06:15 pm

| | Monday, September 24, 2001 - 11:17 pm Hi!

| | Wednesday, September 26, 2001 - 07:17 am Hi, Everybody, Hi, Miss Tang, Frankie and Sir Chow, I suppose you are going the right direction - formally recognising the status of the overseas AA "members" and openning up the website for their perusal. Just browsed over the list of AA members, only to find that most of the names are new to me. In order for a society to last over 30 years, I would say it is only natural. May be another 30 years from now, these current members will be delighted to learn that they have a way to share and witness the growth of Akinalliance in their golden years. Fok Wai-shing from Vancouver

|
| | Sunday, October 14, 2001 - 09:26 pm

|
| | Wednesday, August 28, 2002 - 11:09 pm Siu, Yes, renting equipment is popular. In vancouver, you may find five to six shops have rental on backpack, hiking-tent, mountian equipment co-op inc. eveh has down-sleeping bag for rent. They are clean and good condition. Rental fee for a 60-litre size backpack is about $15/day. Tent $15/day. May be only beginners may rent hiking equipment. Most people own theirs. Saying that rental on tools and many thing are very common in Canada. People rent construction and repair tools are very common; like long ladders, chain-saw, cup & plates for party, costume for Halloween Party, etc. Ken Tung

|
| | Thursday, August 29, 2002 - 01:49 pm Dear Aaron, Glad you enjoyed your stay in Vancouver. Thanks for personally delivering my message to the board. It is part of AA history and it is important to straighten it out. There are maples in this part of Canada alright. Japanese Maple, Big Leave Maple & Vine Maple are everywhere. Only the latter turns red in fall, but it is small and therefore not spectacular. What you have in mind are maples that turn red in fall in the eastern part of Canada. Fred Fok

| | Monday, September 02, 2002 - 02:00 am Hi, Ms Tang and Arron, Any chance for overseas AAs to have a look at the 33 anniversary publiation? and may be similar issues in the future? Further to the "Roundtable" discussion of 10/10 last year on "members of honour", what is the situation now? Any open invitations to follow? Or am I correct to say that we can now file in our written applications? Arron, it was Edie's dental, not mine. As her operation dragged on too long (4 hours) and thus engulfed my appointment time. Too bad we could not make it that evening, or else we would have delayed your dinner time. Fred Fok

| | Wednesday, September 04, 2002 - 02:30 pm Picture contributed by Rex Yau Hong Sing. Waterton Lake at sunset. I always enjoy this view. It is so peaceful and relaxing. A corner of the Townsite is to the far right of the picture. Just a scene of the overlapping mountains as you are going out towards the south end of Waterton Lake. The air was very fresh and clear of pollutants. They had a very short summer this time in the Waterton Area. A couple of snow falls in August already and it is quite cool right now. The Maple is changing colour and is very eye catching, especailly against a dark and green background. Waterton Lake with its proud jewel the Prince of Wales Hotel at dusk. It takes a climb of about a few hundred feet in order to take this picture. I am sure there are thousands of people did the same thing before me and I am not ashame to follow their foot steps. Do you know they did not even bother to lock it up when it was closed during the winter months? Hope you guys (and gals) enjoy this batch of pictures taken during our recent trip from BC to Alberta. Please let me know if you want more. Thanks for watching and until the next time. Bye Rex PS: I plan to go camping next summer. Ken Tung

We could actually hear the glacier cracking away a couple of times at a distance with sound like thunder. But by the time we looked up, it was too late to catch the action because the sound and sight did not arrive at the same time. The glacier looks close but is actually quite far away. It was a brand new experience and it was quite exciting. - Rex Yau (Posted by Tung Tat-Sing) image{ }
