| | Monday, March 29, 2004 - 09:03 pm Guidelines for collection and delivery of eyeglasses A team of 15 volunteers will be leaving Hong Kong in late April, to run an eye treatment clinic near Kunming, Yunnan Province. In many cases, relatively simple treatment can be life-changing not just for the individual but for the whole family. Often, glasses are unaffordable or simply unobtainable locally. However, they can have an impact in many areas of people's lives - their ability to work, to prepare food, to look after others... Thank you for your donation of glasses. Deadline: 31st March, 2004. This leaves us time to test, clean, sort and label all the glasses before the team leaves. Guidelines: Glasses should be clean and not scratched. Where the case is available this would be beneficial (particularly soft cases). If the prescription strength is known, please let us know! (either with a tag or a small sticker in the far corner of the lens). Single vision lenses are preferred. Non-prescription sunglasses are also welcome. Main Delivery point: Crossroads International 2 Castle Peak Road Gold Coast Tuen Mun New Territories Hong Kong Please contact Thembie Meki at 2272 9345. Other Delivery Points: For details of further collection points around Hong Kong, please call 2272 9301 or 2272 9345 or email us at enquiries@crossroads.org.hk
